I have been a member of the club for 6 years and my journey has been of novice to ironwoman, starting with learning to ride a bike out on the roads with my friends, learning to swim though never a strong point, I have enjoyed my time at Taff Ely and found a number of friends. My running background helped get through the events, but it is really the club rides that I love and look forward to get out on a Saturday, have a chat over a cup of tea and then slog it home, the longer the better. On a personal level I have undertaken a number of Ironman 70.3 and 140.6 events at home and abroad. Barcelona 70.3 was a real highlight of 2018 as it was a special club trip with over 30 club member making the trip for the World Triclub champs. Ironman Wales at the end of the season is usually my end of season goal and so far I have completed it three times in a variety of conditions. I really enjoy putting something back into a club that has helped me progress, and so I took my BTF level 1 in early 2018. My coaching goal is to give confidence to others to show them that they can achieve their dreams as I have done, and being part of large coaching team is really great.
